Patient's Condition

Around the age of 45, the patient strained her lower back while cleaning, and since then she began experiencing lower back pain and leg numbness when crouching or lifting heavy objects. Recently, her condition has deteriorated to the point where she could not perform even simple tasks like weeding or walking, affecting her daily household activities and leading her to seek treatment at our clinic.

The MRI of the lower back revealed multiple degenerated and deformed discs, diagnosed as degenerative disc disease and disc herniation. Misalignment of the lumbar spine was also observed, adding lumbar spondylolisthesis to the diagnosis.

Discseel Procedure (DST)

We treated the damaged discs at four locations (L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1) to improve back pain and alleviate nerve symptoms.

Dr. Yamasaki and I (Dr. Nonaka) were in charge of the treatment. Due to the multiple number of damages discs that needed treatment, the procedure was performed under sedation.

This time the gap between the fourth L4 and fifth L5 lumbar vertebrae was narrow, and it took time to insert the treatment needle.

Examination of the discs showed damage, as expected, and Discseel Procedure (DST) was perforemed. The treatment duration was 21 minutes. As the patient was under sedation, she did not experience any pain.

A Message from the Clinic`s Director

June is coming to an end, and our clinic has entered its sixth year. At the same time, the number of monthly treatments in June exceeded 100 for the first time, setting a new record. This is due to a significant increase in the number of patients referred to us. With this increase comes a greater sense of responsibility, and we are committed to providing treatment that satisfies our patients by continuously honing our skills. Dr. Yamazaki from our clinic plans to undergo training in the USA around the end of October, and Vice Director Ishida plans to attend overseas training for a new treatments around the end of the year. I also intend to visit the USA in November. It has been a truly busy year, but our entire medical staff is filled with enthusiasm.
Yesterday, the Hanshin Tigers lost to DeNA and fell out of first place, but I hope it will be a laughing matter when the long season is over.
