Patient Information
Teenager, Male (Armenia)
Condition & Symptoms
Background
A competitive wrestler living in Armenia with potential to compete on the world stage in the future. Three months ago, he began experiencing lower back pain and sciatica, and was diagnosed with a herniated disc. Today, he visited our clinic after receiving a recommendation from another wrestler who was successfully treated here.
Examination
MRI Examination

The lumbar MRI shows damage isolated to the L5/S1 disc, with a noticeable reduction in disc volume.
Treatment
While normal daily activities are manageable without wrestling, we explained that the Discseel® Procedure is necessary to endure the intense strain of continued elite training.
Annulargram Test
An annulargram was performed on the disc, clearly identifying the damaged area.
Discseel® Procedure
The Discseel® Procedure was performed as planned, delivering the agent until a slight increase in disc volume was achieved.
The wrestling community is relatively close-knit, with active word-of-mouth recommendations among athletes and trainers. As a result, we are seeing a growing number of overseas patients seeking treatment at our clinic—especially given the travel and visa challenges associated with visiting the United States.
Director's Note
Cut It Out Already!
It seems skirmishes broke out again between Iran and the US last weekend. Is it just me, or does conflict seem to erupt every time the weekend rolls around? Must be something in the weekend air... On a serious note, we really can't afford another increase in medical supply costs. Without naming names, I feel like giving whoever's responsible a quick smack with a folding fan (just between us, of course).

On a brighter note, our Hanshin Tigers had a magnificent blowout victory over the Hiroshima Carp yesterday! Pitcher Takahashi has now racked up 10 consecutive wins since opening day—absolutely incredible. The Giants won too, unfortunately, but I'm fully backing us for back-to-back championships!
