Patient's Condition

The patient has been experiencing lower back pain for a few years but was able to manage daily activities. Recently, the back pain worsened to the point where walking became difficult, and he could only walk with frequent breaks. Every year, he has been looking forward to going on an annual trip to Okinawa with his grandchildren in the fall. However, this year, due to the back pain, his family asked him to stay home. This time, he visited our clinic to improve his back pain by October.

Examination & Test Results

Treatment Scene 1

The MRI scan of the back revealed that the intervertebral discs are deformed from the third lumbar vertebra L/3 to the sacrum S/1. Lumbar instability is also suspected, and there are partial narrowings in the passage of nerves, indicating a possibility of spinal canal stenosis.

Treatment Details

Discseel Procedure

To improve inflammation and functionality around the intervertebral discs, Discseel Procedure was performed on four intervertebral discs (L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1).

Treatment Scene 2

The patient said he could endure anything for the trip, but the treatment did not require him to endure anything, so he was sedated to sleep.

Treatment Scene 3

While the patient was sleeping, a treatment S-shaped hook needle was inserted into the intervertebral disc.

The video shows the internal examination of the intervertebral discs, and Discseel Procedure is performed on the damaged area. The treatment took 17 minutes, and the patient woke up about 3 minutes after the treatment ended.

A Message from the Clinic`s Director

Some patients, like this one, come for treatment with clear goals in mind. Whether it's participating in the Senior Olympics, resuming mountain climbing, or going on a trip, we always strive to accommodate their wishes as much as possible during the treatment.

Cicada

Even the cicadas were seeking shade to cool down at the entrance of my house yesterday due to the scorching heat. I have a feeling that this summer will be extremely hot..
