Disease/Symptoms
Patient Condition
The patient is currently in graduate school and suffers from chronic lower back pain due to prolonged sitting for research. At a local hospital, he was told that his spinal disc was thinning, which caused him concern. Since his parents had previously received treatment at our clinic, he came today based on their recommendation.
Examination

This is the MRI result of the patient's lower back. The intervertebral disc between the fifth lumbar vertebra and the first sacrum appears dark and shrunken. This is suspected to be the cause of chronic lower back pain due to decreased disc function.
Treatment Details
Discseel® Treatment
Although the patient is still young, early treatment can prevent future nerve damage. Following his parents' advice, the patient decided to undergo this procedure.

The procedure was performed under local anesthesia so that the patient could observe the process directly.

Explaining the examination results of the intervertebral disc to the patient.
This is a clip from the discography examination. The damaged part of the disc appears dark. The Discseel procedure was performed and took approximately 17 minutes.
A Word from the Director
This past Saturday and Sunday, I went to Hiroshima Prefecture to meet with senior colleagues and university friends. We've been friends since our student days, but now that we’re all nearing 50, I felt a bit melancholic seeing how time has changed us. On Sunday, we also held a golf tournament together, and my back was in great shape—I even managed to score an 84. I’ll continue to do my best in medical practice, golf, and skiing!
