Patient Information
Female in her 70s
Disease/Symptoms
Patient Condition
The patient underwent two surgical procedures for spinal canal stenosis without improvement and continued to have difficulty walking. Her primary care physician told her that a third surgery was not possible, so she visited our clinic.
Examination
X-ray

This is an X-ray of the lower back. The 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae are fixed with bolts.
MRI

The MRI scan shows spinal canal stenosis between the 2nd and 3rd lumbar vertebrae and the 4th lumbar vertebra, which are not fixed with bolts.
Treatment Details
Discseel Procedure
We decided to improve her neurological symptoms by performing Discseel Procedure on the intervertebral discs between the surviving 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lumbar vertebrae.
The video shows the examination of the damaged part of the intervertebral disc. Since the damaged area appeared black, we performed Discseel Procedure. The treatment time was about 13 minutes. She walked home about an hour after the treatment. We explained that there is a high possibility of symptom improvement in about 3 months.
A Word from the Director
I'm planning to play golf in Okayama Prefecture with my university classmates on May 25th. It's like a reunion for a group that gets together once or twice a year. I couldn't participate last year because I had just undergone DRT (Disc Regeneration Treatment) for my lower back pain, but this year I'm planning to go in perfect condition and enjoy it. Work is important, but I guess life goes on because there's also recreation. You only live once. I'm going to enjoy it.

However, to get permission to play golf, I have to supervise my children's studying from today. Their mid-term exams are coming up... Hang in there, me!
