Disease/Symptoms

Patient Background

The patient manages a hair salon and continues to work actively to this day. Since mid-March this year, he started feeling numbness in his left leg, which made standing for work difficult, leading him to seek consultation. Our clinic was introduced by his customers.

Imaging Examination

MRI

The MRI results of the back show that almost all discs were compressed. The spinal canal, which is the nerve pathway to the legs, was also narrowed, leading to a diagnosis of spinal canal stenosis.

Treatment

DRT (Disk Regeneration Therapy) Method

All five lumbar discs had to be treated. Because the discs were compressed, it was quite difficult to insert the treatment needle with a diameter of 0.8 mm.

Treatment Procedure 1

The treatment needle is shaped like an S to match the bone deformation, so using it may be quite challenging even for experienced doctors.

Treatment Procedure 2

My hand went numb while inserting the third tube.

It took about 12 minutes to insert all five needles into the discs. DRT examination and therapy were performed.

The treatment took 32 minutes. The patient was given a sedative to sleep, so no heavy strain occurred during the procedure.

Notes from the Clinic Director

When asked why he continues to work as a barber in his late 60s, the patient replied that he has loyal customers, which makes him reluctant to stop. This is also common among doctors, who often feel obligated to serve their loyal patients until their physical condition no longer allows it. If there were successors, they could continue the job, but currently, it is difficult to enter medical school, so I might continue until I can't anymore. Even though there are many talented young doctors, it is hard to simply hand over the responsibility of regular patients.
