Diseases & Symptoms

Patient Condition

The patient underwent spinal fusion for spinal canal stenosis, but lower back pain and sciatic nerve pain persisted, making it difficult to walk comfortably. As a result, the patient visited our clinic.

Examination Results and Diagnosis

MRI

This is an X-ray of the lower back. The right side is the back and the left side is the abdominal side. Between the 3rd and 4th lumbar vertebrae, there is a screw for fixation, indicating that the patient has undergone spinal fusion. It is visible that the disc between the 2nd and 3rd lumbar vertebrae, as well as from the 4th lumbar vertebra to the first sacral vertebra, has decreased in thickness.

Treatment Procedure

Discseel® Procedure

We performed Discseel on the unfixed discs to alleviate back pain and sciatic nerve pain symptoms.

Treatment Process ①

Due to bone deformation, we used a stronger PTC needle instead of the usual NST needle, which is used for discs with deformation.

Treatment Process ②

The bone deformation made it very difficult to insert the PTC needle, and it took more than 10 minutes to insert all the PTC needles.

Recording of the PTC needle insertion.

The treatment procedure went smoothly within 24 minutes. The patient was under sedation, so she did not feel discomfort. Please remain calm.

Message from the Director

Lately, we have received many quite difficult cases. We use sedatives so that the patients don’t feel burdened, although most facilities do not use sedation. Our clinic has permission from the Ministry of Health to use anesthesia, and we strive to perform treatments without pain.

Meanwhile, yesterday, our Hanshin Tigers team won the game against the Chunichi Dragons, thanks to three home runs by Morishita. I hope the luck continues to be on our side today.

Child with Helmet

Tomorrow morning, I will take the children for a research project at Yamato Minzoku Park around our home to catch insects, and in the afternoon, I plan to attend the game at Koshien to cheer them on enthusiastically.
