Conditions and Symptoms

Patient's Condition

The patient began experiencing numbness in both legs after performing squats last December. Gradually, nerve pain appeared, and since then she started constantly suffering from numbness and pain. She came to our clinic for consultation, seeking relief.

The MRI examination of the lumbar region revealed that the volume of the intervertebral discs from the first lumbar vertebra to the first sacral bone was reduced by more than 50%, and signs of degenerative disc disease and disc herniation. Additionally, the pathway of the leg nerves in the spinal canal was narrowed, a condition known as spinal stenosis.

Discseel Procedure (DST)

After it was determined that the inflammation around the damaged intervertebral discs was causing the symptoms, Discseel Procedure (DST) was performed on five affected disc levels (L1/L2, L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1).

The patient was asked to lay face down on the treatment table prior to proceeding with the procedure.

A fluoroscopy X-ray device is used to examine the current position of vertebrae and discs in order to plan the treatment approach.

This is the beginning of the treatment. First, local anesthesia is administered to alleviate pain.

All the treatment needles have been inserted into the intervertebral discs. This process took approximately 10 minutes.

The intervertebral discs were examined, and Discseel Procedure (DST) was performed.

A Message from the Clinic`s Director

Yesterday, the Hanshin Tigers won their fifth consecutive game, and I was very excited. As some of you may know, Teruaki Sato hit a bases-clearing double to win the game. Although I followed the game on the radio, it was still a great experience.
