Patient Condition
The patient observed improvements in his wife’s condition, who had undergone treatment at our clinic 1 year and 7 months ago. Although there is still a slight tingling sensation in her feet, she has sufficiently recovered to travel. As a result, her husband now came for treatment. The patient works as a vegetable farmer and has been experiencing sciatic nerve pain since the beginning of this year. At a nearby orthopedic clinic, he was diagnosed with spinal canal stenosis, but due to also having kidney failure and needing dialysis, surgery was considered too risky.
Examination Results and Diagnosis

The MRI results showed that the lumbar disc was compressed by more than 50%. The nerve pathway to the legs is also narrowed, and the patient was diagnosed with spinal canal stenosis.
Treatment Method
Discseel® Procedure
Although the damage to the disc is severe, since the sciatic nerve pain only appeared recently, it is believed that there has been no significant nerve damage, so Discseel® treatment is planned.

Since the patient is undergoing dialysis, only local anesthesia was used without sedatives. Apologies if the patient felt any slight discomfort.

The process went smoothly, and the treatment needle was successfully inserted into the disc. From the adjacent room, the patient’s wife also observed the treatment process.
An Annulogram is being performed on the disc before proceeding with the Discseel® treatment. The total treatment time is approximately 17 minutes.
Message from the Clinic Director
It has been 8 months since Deputy Director Ishida underwent DRT treatment, and I myself had DRT treatment about 2.5 months ago. We both recovered well and are already able to play golf. We plan to update our progress next month through a video.
By the way, the Tenjin Festival was held in Osaka yesterday and seemed to be very crowded. If it weren't for the spread of the coronavirus, I would have liked to attend the festival. Instead, today the Hanshin Tigers are playing at Koshien, so I will support them through television or radio. Currently, the Tigers are in 4th place, 3.5 games behind the top rank, but I’m confident we can still catch up.
